Spring Break with the Decker Family

For spring break, my oldest sister and her awesome family packed up and headed to TX to visit! Their first stop was to visit some friend's in San Antonio. Harrison and I crashed their party and met them there. (I wanted all the time I could have with family!) One morning I woke up to this cute sight! Good old Justus helping out by giving both the babies their morning bottles. When Chance woke up he was a distraction but they all had so much fun playing together.
A bunch of sleepy heads! This was the only time I got my camera out while we were there. We spent a day at SeaWorld (and I didn't want my camera to get wet) and a day at he River Walk (and I already took pictures there).
Once we got to our house in Houston, they boys were sick of driving and ready to run around. They had a good time in the sprinkler.
Except Gage...not really sure what happened, BUT...
I love that face and his cute hair!

Then we spent an evening at the Houston Rodeo and we made it to the Live Stock Show and more of the carnival this time. Harrison loved the bunnies and knew not to get his hands too close.
A couple of cute cowboys...riding in their John Deere
More boys join the party.

And of course we had to go back to the petting zoo and everyone loved it! I love this boy, he is always so animated!
We found a chicken.
How many Decker boys does it take to feed 1 goat? Not sure but we have 3 trying right here.

Talon only needed a minute to warm up. I guess a big dog at home takes away most animal fears.

I love this face. Talon is only 5 weeks younger than Harrison and these two are going to be some serious trouble!
Riding a goat.
Petting the wombat (I thought it was a kangaroo but I was told otherwise!)
Apparently this goat wanted to come home with the Decker family. They have some room but I don't think the zoo people would let him go. He likes you Dest!
Justus finding his own animal to pet.
Trying to pet the prize winning pig!
Can't visit Texas without seeing a long horn. This was as close as we wanted to get.
We all got to spend sometime at the carnival but I guess I was distracted by the rides and didn't take any pictures. We also went to Chuck E. Cheese and the park (again I forgot my camera!) I need to get better about that! The boys didn't want to go to the beach (they had enough driving) but we had a great time playing games. We are addicted to Killer Bunnies now!

Thanks for coming down Deckers! I know it was a lot of driving and the week went really fast but we had a great time. Love you guys and can't wait to see you guys again soon!

San Antonio Weekend

My sister's family was coming down for spring break and going to spend the first part in San Antonio, so I thought I would meet them there and spend more time with them. They were getting in on Sunday so Jeff and I decided to make our own weekend of it and do some fun sight seeing in San Antonio. We went to San Marcos (just north of San Antonio) and hit the outlet malls and then headed down to San Antonio for the touristy stuff. We started at the River Walk. It was a lot of fun and the sights were great! We saw some ducks...
and the architecture was amazing. I don't think we get a lot of this kind of stuff in the US and it is nice to see some so close to home. The landscape was great too.
How amazing is all this? I can see why it is the #1 tourist attraction in the state of TX.
I didn't get any good pictures of the buildings up close but the river goes right through all these amazing buildings and it is pretty stunning when you are right there next to it all.
Standing next to one of those amazing walk over bridges. We didn't cross very many with the stroller but they are pretty neat.
A nice little water fall. It didn't look so good trying to take our family picture...
so we each took turns with Harrison.

Then we arrived a the Alamo. Another great stop with some amazing landscape. Love the red bud trees.
Harrison got to get out and play around finally and run off a little bit of energy. Soon after he fell in the mud and was put back in his stroller.
Some more amazing trees.
I think this is the back of the Alamo church. These sagging trees were so interesting. The branches just grow down and they put cables up in a lot of places to keep them in place.
The front of the Alamo.
We didn't really know too much about the Alamo before the trip but really learned a lot and I am interested in learning more. We now "Remember the Alamo".

Houston Rodeo and All that goes with it...

Jeff called me one day from work and said "Would you like to go see Brad Paisley in concert this week?" My only response "Of course!" I was so excited. The concert was going on with the Houston Rodeo, which I also wanted to go to. We debated on whether or not to bring Harrison but decided that he would like the rodeo, carnival and petting zoo so instead of finding a babysitter, we brought him with us! Hoping that we could wear him out and he would sleep through the concert part.

So we started at the petting zoo and right as we were coming in, some little girl was screaming as her parents brought her in. I felt bad and was glad that wasn't my child. Harrison loved the animals, but wasn't so sure about touching them at first. He was standing a safe distance away.
He was a little braver when we were holding him and even tried kissing the animals.
We tried getting him closer and closer and he did seem excited. He was nervously laughing the whole time we were there.
Getting closer...
I pushed his hand down and he laughed about it but was still not ready to touch.
Now he was ready. The goat sitting down was more less scary. After that, we had to work really hard to keep him from bugging the animals and poking at them.

After the petting zoo we headed to the carnival. We just did a quick walk through on our way to the rodeo and concert. Harrison loved all the lights and noise.

Jeff got the tickets through work so we got to sit in the box seat section. They fed us and the view was great. It was awesome. It was such a big place for a rodeo though that we had to watch the TV screens most of the time to see what was going on. Harrison loved it though.
Watching the wagon races...
and all of the 4H kids chasing around cows. He looks really interested (you can tell by him being up on his toes!)
Setting up for the concert.
Brad Paisley-March 11, 2010
We had a great time and it was a late night for Harrison (who did not fall asleep) but we all had a great time.
