Midwest Travels

Well, we have been gone 1 week now, with 1 week still to go! Harrison and I left Daddy at home to come and visit family. We started out on a plane to Ohio and spent all last week with Jeff's family and our newest nephew. Harrison meet his little cousin, Stratt for the first time and we really enjoyed hanging out with Jeff's parents (Grandpa and Grandma) and Jeff's younger sister and her family. It was a great time and at the end of the week, Grandma, Grandpa, Harrison and I continued our travels by car from Ohio to Chicago. There we got to visit Jeff's older brother and his little family and meet our newest addition to the Ward family, little Alpha. She is so sweet and Harrison had a great time with his little cousins. We were there for her blessing on Sunday and then continued on to my parent's home at the end of the weekend. Hopefully we are going to lay low this week and hang out with our Decker cousins for a few days. I will get some pictures posted of our trip when I have some time away from chasing Harrison around a house much bigger then I am used too!

Fun with Daddy!

Harrison loves his Daddy and his Daddy loves him! We are getting ready to leave Daddy for the next 2 weeks to visit Grandparents and meet 2 cousins for the first time! We are very excited but sad that Daddy cannot join us. So, this weekend Harrison spent a lot of time with Daddy.
His favorite is blowing bubbles. He came from the other side of the yard when he saw his Daddy pull out the bubbles.
He chases them around and yells bubble "buboo" and "pop". We just love it!
Who knew some soap could bring such joy to Harrison. Jeff always tries to blow big bubbles for Harrison to pop.
After several conversations (over the course of our marriage) and lately several prayers, we have decided that it is time for Jeff to take the LSAT and see what happens. Jeff feels that there is more and he wants a job that really challenges him. So with 4 months before his test date, he has begun a good study plan. Harrison continues to want to spend time with his dad, so he got out his own books and came over to the table to "study" and read as well. It was too cute.
I think I have two very smart boys in my house! I am excited for Jeff and hope that Harrison can always see what a hard worker his Dad is!
I love my boys!

Happy Mother's Day!

What a wonderful Mother's Day! I hope every mother (or future mother) enjoyed a day as wonderful as mine! I love having two boys in my life who love me so much. I was so spoiled today and loved every minute of it. My day started with this little angel climbing in bed with me and cuddling while Daddy worked on breakfast. Harrison isn't the greatest at sitting still to cuddle, but I'll take what I can get and this morning, we cuddled!
When we got up for breakfast, both of us were ready to eat and happy to be waited on.
A few days before Mother's Day I got a new phone. Many of you know, my phone is awful! I am do for a new phone in July so I haven't gotten a new one. The battery doesn't stay charged more than a few minutes and I borrowed another phone from my sister, which has since had the screen go out, so I was so excited for a new phone. Harrison just wants it out so he can destroy it like my other phone...not happening buddy!
Giving some love to mommy on our second Mother's Day together.
I told Jeff the other day that I really was craving Cinnamon Rolls, but not just regular cinnamon rolls, I wanted Cinnabon rolls. So, my wonderful husband found a wonderful recipe and spent quite a bit of time to make me my perfect breakfast. Before he even cooked them, they looked and smelled so good.
By the time he got them out of the oven, I couldn't wait anymore. We added some frosting (also homemade) and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. Instead of breakfast in bed, we had breakfast outside. Harrison ran around and I got to enjoy my new mother's day presents. Jeff got me a comfy lawn chair and table and a bird feeder. So now I can spend my days in our backyard and be comfortable (no pictures now but maybe next time)!
Then as we were getting ready for church, my shoes went missing...where could they be? I wasn't sure until I heard a clicking on the tile and found my shoe bandit! Silly boy doesn't know yet that these are not boy shoes!
Then I wanted to take a nice family picture. Not enough time to really set up so it wasn't great. Plus the sun was in our eyes so Harrison wouldn't smile! Oh-well, we will just have to try again soon!
I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful mother's day...I know I did. I am so grateful for all the wonderful mothers out there. I have a wonderful mother who I love so much and has helped make me the mother I am today. She has taught me many lessons in my life and I have grown so much as a woman because of her. I have a great mother-in-law as well, who raised an amazing son who has now become an amazing husband and father. I am so blessed in my life to be surrounded by such wonderful mothers. Families are truly a gift from our Heavenly Father, I and I am so grateful for mine!

Yay for May!

I can't believe May has hit already! I am excited for all that summer brings but not quite ready for the TX heat! On the upside of spring here in TX is the plant life. Everything is coming to life and we are so excited that our garden has actually showed some promise. We planted two types of tomatoes, zucchini, green peppers, onions and watermelon. We also had a strawberry plant and some sort of berry bush in our yard. The green peppers and watermelon have just now started to grow so we are hoping they come in before it gets too hot! The tomatoes are doing well and so are the berries. The strawberries all got eaten by the birds before they were even ripe so we missed out on those! The zucchini had done wonderfully! We are going to have zucchini coming out our ears in the next few weeks but we are excited! I finally got something to grow! Here are the zucchini in mid-March when I thinned them out...
And here they are this last Sunday. The flowers should be gone in about another week or so and we should see the zucchini soon! We have about 11 plants and each is starting to flower...anyone want zucchini???
One of our tomato plants...both kinds are doing well!

This last month Harrison has been obsessed with being outside. I guess that isn't really new but I find him like this over at our fence all the time. He has a special friend that he has found on the other side...
Always peeking threw and seeing if his special friend is outside. I always know when he is out because I hear Harrison saying "da, da da" for "dog". We need to work on those ending sounds!
Here is what he sees through the hole in the fence. This little dog is our neighbors newest addition. It is a pit bull puppy named Deuce. Since they got it at the end of March, he has already doubled in size. Pretty soon he will be way to big for Harrison, but for now, Harrison loves to watch him. He doesn't really care if Harrison is there or not and just does what he does best...sleep.
I recently discovered our high chair can be lowered and Harrison loves to climb in. I am glad it is on his level because he will climb in when it is up high too...
Until he starts using the chair as a step stool. Now he will push it all over the kitchen, up to the sink and over to the fridge and try to get into things. Guess it wasn't such a great discovery after all!
Outside enjoying an already warm evening. Notice there is no water in the pool. He hasn't figured out that it needs water to be fun so until then, we will enjoy playing in the dry pool. He loves the slide, for himself and for his toys. Anything that rolls or slides takes a turn on Harrison's slide.
Our budding artist needs an outlet. He will color on my walls so he doesn't use any sort of writing things in the house. We have sidewalk chalk and he likes it but it is hard to see on the concrete so he started drawing on the outside of the house. We ex-ed that quickly and now he decorates the fence. That is the best yet! Here he is hard at work on his next creation. Then I just take pictures to capture it and the rain washes it away and we start over again!
He is a little blurry because we can't get him to hold still when he is being an artist!

Then just today was an exciting day already! We got our pool passes for the pool in our neighborhood and can start going to the pool even now. We were so excited we celebrated with over an hour of the park and then the sand box. We came home for lunch and Harrison was tired! He looked like this when he was done eating...
and then quickly changed to this. So not like him! I hear of kids falling asleep in their high chair but this is a first for us. It was funny though! I wiped him off and as I was putting him in bed, he started asking to go outside. Maybe after a nap buddy! I love my angel baby!
