Fun Times

Well, we haven't been up to anything too crazy these days.  Just having fun and trying to enjoy the beginnings of another hot, Houston summer.

Just like her Daddy and big brother, this girl is already learning to swing a hammer!

We have made quite a few trips to the pool.  We have yet to work it so that Daddy can come, but hopefully soon.  Both the kids love the water though.  Harrison does really well with floaties or a life jacket and Raegan is just happy with me holding her.

Raegan is rollling all over the place now.  She can roll stomach to back and back to stomach in both directions.  She doesn't really roll to get anywhere but just enjoys the change as she moves.  She will usually roll, then play with her hands and feet for a while and then roll again and repeat.  Still no interest in crawling which is just fine with me!
Last Saturday, Harrison and I had a Mommy/Son date morning.  We got up early and went blueberry picking.  It was a lot of fun and Harrison enjoyed the first 1 1/2 and then we made it another half hour before leaving.  In the 2 hours we were there, we spilled 2 half full buckets of blueberries and walked away with 7 lbs. of berries.

And a blueberry snow cone.  I had to bribe him with something to keep him picking when the temperature started to get hot!
Then just because they are cute, I had to include this.  Both my kids where pretty exhausted last night.  Harrison went to sleep at 7:45  and Raegan was out by 8:20.  So, I laid her next to him (they were only like this for the picture) and my heart melted.  If only they could stay like this forever!  Not necessarily asleep, but so sweet and innocent.  I am one blessed woman to have two angels in my life!

5 months-And some firsts

Well, we have hit that 5 month mark and although I don't really want my baby to grow up, I love watching all the new things she does everyday.  We didn't have her to the Dr. this month so no stats, but she hit some big milestones shortly after 5 months.
Before that though, she has been getting very good at sitting up in her Bumbo and Exersaucer and playing.
She loves to smile, still not a big laugher.  She loves to talk.
She is a pretty good sleeper, usually about an 8 hour stretch, eats and then another 4 hours.
She loves her brother and tried watermelon (loved it).

Shortly after 5 months (yesterday actually) she started rolling from stomach to back.  Now tummy time is almost none existant so we will see when she crawls or scoots.  Last week she rolled during naptime and scared me when I went in to check on her, but she still found her thumb so no worries!

She also tried her first rice cereal yesterday and we will be working that into her nighttime routine.  She seemed to like it though and caught on pretty well to the spoon idea.

Busy-ness

You ever had one of those weeks when you have a lot to do and you are exhausted by the end of it, but you had a great (for the most part) week?  We just had 2 weeks in a row and they were fun but crazy busy!   Between school, play dates, baseball games, speaking in church, visiting teaching, sickness, parties and weddings, I'm glad we get some time to recover.

Poor Raegan got a wake up call too early one to many mornings, but was a good sport and Harrison loved helping me wake her...sorry baby girl, we weren't too subtle!

Harrison finished his first year of preschool and loved it.  He has really grown so much from the beginning in October to May.  I can't believe he still has 2 years before kindergarten!
He enjoyed his friend, Sam's, birthday at the indoor park.

And it is already so hot down here that the one morning we skipped the long drive downtown for playgroup and went to a splash pad nearby.  It was fun for Harrison.

Raegan enjoyed it for a minute and then was too hot.  We lasted about 90 minutes though!

It was so hot that I brought our lunch home and promised Harrison an indoor picnic.  That's how we roll in the summer in Houston.
And I played with a new app on my phone...love those blue eyes!

We enjoyed a movie night over the weekend (or Harrison did and Raegan and I had some girl time) while Daddy was gone for the night.  Guess she doesn't enjoy Winnie the Pooh quite as much as her brother.

Then Harrison got sick and after 2 days with a fever and then complaining about swallowing it was off to the Dr.  No strep, just a virus so home again to recover.
Passed out at 10 in the morning...this can't be my kid!

When he was sick, we made a shirt that he was so excited to wear when he was up and feeling better.
Our weeks apparently wore Raegan out too.  Luckily she didn't get sick, just tired.

Then one of Jeff's mission companions got married this last weekend in Beaumont, TX so we took the 2 hour drive out for that.  It was fun and Jeff was his best man.  It was fun to watch Jeff stand up in a wedding and fun to explain to Harrison a little more about weddings.  Dave was also the best man at our wedding almost 7 years ago so it was fun to see where life has taken us.
And since we were trying to lay low over the weekend, we kept Harrison home, but couldn't keep him contained any longer.  So, sprinkler in the backyard to the rescue!  He loved it.

And Raegan had her first official playdate too.  Our neighbor had a little girl 8 days after we had Raegan and although the girls have met, they finally are starting to notice each other.  Really I think Teagan just wants Raegan off her play mat!
