Time flies when your having fun

Harrison is two today! Where does the time go? So much has changed in the last 2 years and it has been such a great time having Harrison along for the ride! I guess looking back I thought our lives would be different then they are today, but it has sure been a great two years. I can't imagine my life without my little angel baby. I still wonder how this...

Harrison has been such a blessing in our lives. He has really become a little toddler over the last little while. He loves to talk! Half the time, we are not quite sure what he is saying, but it means something to him. He also loves to parrot whatever we are saying.
He isn't quite a picky eater, but he does decide when he wants to eat. Some days he will eat big meals and other days I can't get anything in him besides milk and some crackers. His favorites are mac and cheese, hot dogs, sausage, berries, bananas, apples, broccoli, peas, carrots, any kind of cracker (fishies, graham) cereal, dried cranberries and raisens, pasta with red sauce, peanut butter and any kind of treat we will give him!
He continues to be a good sleeper still going about 12 hours a night with a 2-3 hour nap every day. Some of that shortened as we just got him off the DeeDee (pacifier), but we are getting back to normal now.
Harrison loves to watch TV. His favorite shows are Sesame Street, Dora, Diego and Team Umizoomi. He will watch just about any cartoon though. He also loves to watch Toy Story, Cars and Madagascar and will sometimes sit through the whole movie in one sitting if we let him.
He loves to play! We spent our summer at the pool and he became a fearless little fish. He also loves the park and will sit on the swings and go down the slides over and over again. He also loves to play in the sand and now likes to have his shoes off in the sand. He loves his trucks and stuffed animals. He will often line up all his cars. He loves to make all the noises of his different animals and knows several animals. He loves puzzles and Duplos are probably his go to toy.
He still loves to look at books and be read to whenever we can. We go to the library at least once a week for their story and singing time. He loves to have music on at home and dance around (which means jumping and throwing his body around).

Harrison is growing and learning so much every day. I can't believe how far we have come in two years! Hopefully the next two years will be just as fun.
I am so grateful for my angel baby and the joy he brings to my life every day! I feel so blessed to be his mother and help and teach him everyday. Love you baby!

Just Because

Looking back, it seems that our blog has been taken over by Harrison. I guess I'm not surprised...he has all the new things going on.

But right now, Jeff is taking the LSAT! That is exciting and big for our family. Back in April Jeff decided that he might want to take a different direction with his career, so be began studying for the LSAT. We still are not sure if it will mean Jeff going to law school or if we will go another direction. So much has changed since that decision in April. Jeff was laid off and now is working from home for another company and really enjoying his job. (And I enjoy his working from home!) He is working on product development and we are still waiting to hear back from another company about work as well. So many directions that our lives could take in the next year. Maybe we will be at law school...your guess is as good as mine. I guess we will continue to follow the promptings and enjoy what life gives us right now.

And right now, Jeff is sitting there taking a 4+ hour test. I am so proud of the hard work that he has put in the last 5+ months to study and prepare for this test. I am so excited for him! Not to get too cheesy, but I married a truly amazing man! He makes so many sacrifices for his family and I am so blessed to call him my husband! I hope you do amazing babe and Harrison and I are sending you all our love!

(He should hear back with the results by the beginning of November. We'll keep you all posted!)

National Night Out

Tuesday night (Oct. 5) was National Night Out. A chance to get out and meet our neighbors. Usually we aren't big on our HOA events because they are so crowded and crazy. But we came out this time because they were going to have a fire truck, a police car and an emergency response truck. All of these are Harrison's favorites. Anytime we see one drive by, he asks if he can ride. Every time I tell him no, I feel bad, but then again, how many people get to ride in a fire truck?! I never have!

Well, we didn't get to ride, but we got to explore and explore we did! He loved every minute of it!

Hair Cuts, Park and Being like Mommy

I think this face means we need a haircut! So, last Sunday evening, we decided to take care of Harrison's ever growing, thick hair. We changed this to...
this! He always looks so much sharper after a haircut. (The bath probably helps too!)
Happier to have the extra weight off and have some shorter hair.
It is finally cooling off down here. 60s in the morning and mid-80s at the hottest part of the day! We love it and have been spending more time at the park again. Harrison has missed the swings!

And last but not least, anyone who knew me as a child knows I started my fetish for bags at a very young age. I love bags! All bags. I save fun, nice bags from stores, I love purses and bags and I love carrying bags. Jeff always loves to point out that I have bags of stuff everywhere and usually I have more bags then everyone around me. Well, it looks like Harrison is following in Mommy's footsteps a little! He fills up his bags with things, asks me to help him get his backpack on and off he goes. I love it!
