Bluebonnets

Well, I loved the bluebonnets last year and was really excited to get to this season again this year.  The weather has been really cool (for here) and it has been really rainy so I finally found a day where it was cool but dry.  Of course that meant it was super sunny, but I'll take what I can get.  After looking at last years pictures where the kids were really hot, it was nice they were a little cooler.  And the blue bonnets were a quick 20 min. drive from our house so it was much easier this year.

And I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem, but getting both my kids to smile at the camera at the same time seems almost too much for us to handle.  So, if they are both looking at the camera and looking somewhat happy, I call it a good picture.  What I am going to do when there are 3?!  I guess that is what photoshop is for :)

Love these 2 and love the TX bluebonnets.  It is one of those beautiful things that I have discovered about Texas!

Before and After

Harrison has been wanting his hair long for the last few months.  I think it started because he doesn't like getting his hair cut, so I humored him and just did trims and clean up around the edges.  Well, it was getting longer and every morning we were spending longer to wet, comb and style his hair then Raegan's!  So, I convinced him that with summer coming, he would be way more comfortable with short hair and he agreed!

I'm happy, he's happy and it is so much easier!  Now he can even where his bike helmet without his hair getting crazy!  We are ready for summer (although that is not an invitation for the heat!)

Before... he does look pretty handsome with his longer hair.

Moving from Man-to-Man Defense to Zone

In honor of March Madness, we are announcing the Ward family's change in defense.  Apparently, 2 kids and 2 adults isn't enough of a challenge for us, so we thought we should let the little ones outnumber us.  So, on August 23rd (but probably later knowing my history), we will be welcoming a third little one into our home!  We are so excited and although January and February were hard months (I love feeling sick and exhausted constantly!), we seem to be onto the better part of the pregnancy for me.  I am tired, but not exhausted and past the sick, so now I am just trying to stay on top of life and enjoy my kids and family.

We have decided to be surprised by the gender this time around, so here are some pictures of our ultrasound, done on Monday, just shy of 20 weeks.  We all have different feelings on gender, so I will just say it will be a big surprise for sure!

Overnight Getaway

This year for Valentine's Day Jeff surprised me with an overnight getaway (something we have not done since having kids).  We arranged it for this last weekend.  Jeff's mom came down for a few days and we took off Friday, left her with the kids and headed to a resort in San Antonio.  It was AWESOME!!  I would have loved for the weather to be a little warmer, but we enjoyed relaxing, reading by the pool, floating the lazy river and even some water slides and hot tub time. We went out to eat and had time to actually talk and relax together.  I wouldn't have minded a few more days, but one night was awesome.  I'm so glad my kids were good for Grandma Ward, so maybe we can do this again sometime!

Easter Festivities

Easter was a few day event at our house this year.  We started the Monday before with an egg hunt for family night.  Harrison and Raegan went looking for the 12 eggs that each had something representing Christ's last days and resurrection.  It was a lot of fun and one of our more successful family nights.

Then the night before Easter we dyed our eggs.  We tried shaving cream dyed eggs (a pinterest flop) and then stuck with food coloring and it went much better.

 Our fun colors.
Then enjoying the spoils of Easter morning after everyone found their baskets.

And ready for church Easter morning.

We spent the afternoon relaxing.  Jeff's mom has been in town for a few days, so we did some mini egg hunts with her and enjoyed a nice grilled dinner.  Then it poured during dinner and the kids could not wait to go splash in the puddles.  Daddy took them out while Grandma and I enjoyed watching from the patio.

We had an awesome Easter and are feeling so blessed to have this wonderful holiday to spend with our family and reflect on our Savior's life, death and resurrection.
