Preschool Field Trip

Yesterday we went on a field trip with Harrison's preschool to visit the Houston Mounted Police Department.  I made sure to get him on this field trip (usually I avoid field trips because it is a lot of work and he doesn't like them as much as regular school) and I thought he would have a great time.

Well, apparently he was not too excited and was afraid of the horses.  We were allowed to feed them and this was as close to a picture as I could get of him feeding a horse.
Then he would drop the carrot.  Finally I helped him and he would do it with me, but he was still really scared.  These are big horses though.
He did start to warm up and would let me help him feed the carrots and peppermints we brought.  The peppermints were flat on our hands so the horses tickled us with their mouths.  It was a lot of fun.  Even Raegan helped feed a few horses.
He would rather use the carrot to hit himself.
He was scared to death to take this picture, but was a good sport.  I think he was afraid the horse would try to take his hat.  But we survived the trip with all our fingers and clothes in tact.
The K9 unit is also trained here so he stood in front with the dog statue as well.
I thought it was really fun, but I guess I will have to check with Harrison before the next field trip.

A Comparison

Everyone tells me Raegan looks a lot like Harrison, but I have a hard time seeing it.  Then, I saw the pictures...I now can see it.  Harrison is first and Raegan is second in all the comparisons.

I just love these 2 kids so much!

3 months and a Blessing

Right after Raegan hit 3 months, we had her blessed in church.  So, I took some pictures of her in her blessing dress.  I posted about the day, but just finished touching up the pictures.

Then at 3 months I like to get nice pictures (I did it with Harrison too), so here are some of my favorites from that.  The next formals will be at 6 months!

 Love those big eyes!

 My blue eyed baby!

 Thumb sucker!

I'm so happy my kids are photogenic and (at least most of the time) enjoy having their pictures taken.

4 months

Time flies.  I can't believe we hit the 4 month mark last Sunday.  I still haven't finished editing and posting all of her 3 month pictures (I promise...they will be done soon!) But Raegan is a healthy, strong and growing little girl.  She was at the Dr. Monday and her stats are:
13 lbs. 10.5 oz (50th percentile)
24.5 in. long (60th percentile)
16 3/4 in head circumference (87th percentile)
What can I say...my kids have big heads!

She continues to grow and do amazing things everyday.  She is on a good sleep schedule.  Usually going to bed about 8:30 or 9 and sleeping until 6 or 7, then eating and going right back to sleep until about 9:30.  Then we get one more long nap during the afternoon/evening and some cat napping in there while we are out for the day.
She eats well, will take a bottle (but doesn't prefer it) and will even take the bottle at room temp. now!  Still doesn't like a pacifier, but loves her thumb and sometimes will even suck on her arm right near her wrist.

She loves to smile and has a very small, quiet laugh.  She is a big talker and once she is going, she is loud and loves to have "conversations" with us.  She loves to be around people and as long as people are around, she doesn't care if she is being held or put down.

She has started playing with toys and I love watching her try to get them to her mouth.  She likes kicking at toys on her bouncy chair too.  She has started blowing bubbles with her mouth and loves to stick her tongue out.  She loves her family and Jeff swears she knows if I am not in the house.  She loves her big brother and smiles/talks to him a lot, even though Harrison thinks she can't talk.  She loves to look at the pages of books while I read and sort of likes being outside.

We love our sweet girl and love watching her grow.  It is going so fast though!

Of course her brother needed to be in on the shot too!  He was good about helping me get her to cooperate, so I let him in on the last few.  Boy does he love her!

Beautiful Weather

The last few weeks have been amazing as far as weather goes.  We really couldn't ask for better days! So, we have been trying to get out and enjoy them.
Poor girl spends a lot of time in here while we are at the park.  I do get her out some, but try to keep her in the shade too.
Normally I don't let him throw sand, but he was the only one there and we talked about how it was a one time thing.

And of course a long day at the park gets rewarded with ice cream, which then ends up all over his face.   And don't mind the forehead...he introduced it to the sidewalk on our way out of preschool last Friday.  Luckily, his teachers had ice on hand!

But we still have spent sometime inside.  Raegan is exploring new toys and her brother even shares his sometimes.

And this was just funny.  We were driving south on our way to take Jeff to the airport and passed this bus.  The windows were all blacked out, so I have no idea if anyone was inside.  We just thought is was funny!
