Yay for May!

I can't believe May has hit already! I am excited for all that summer brings but not quite ready for the TX heat! On the upside of spring here in TX is the plant life. Everything is coming to life and we are so excited that our garden has actually showed some promise. We planted two types of tomatoes, zucchini, green peppers, onions and watermelon. We also had a strawberry plant and some sort of berry bush in our yard. The green peppers and watermelon have just now started to grow so we are hoping they come in before it gets too hot! The tomatoes are doing well and so are the berries. The strawberries all got eaten by the birds before they were even ripe so we missed out on those! The zucchini had done wonderfully! We are going to have zucchini coming out our ears in the next few weeks but we are excited! I finally got something to grow! Here are the zucchini in mid-March when I thinned them out...
And here they are this last Sunday. The flowers should be gone in about another week or so and we should see the zucchini soon! We have about 11 plants and each is starting to flower...anyone want zucchini???
One of our tomato plants...both kinds are doing well!

This last month Harrison has been obsessed with being outside. I guess that isn't really new but I find him like this over at our fence all the time. He has a special friend that he has found on the other side...
Always peeking threw and seeing if his special friend is outside. I always know when he is out because I hear Harrison saying "da, da da" for "dog". We need to work on those ending sounds!
Here is what he sees through the hole in the fence. This little dog is our neighbors newest addition. It is a pit bull puppy named Deuce. Since they got it at the end of March, he has already doubled in size. Pretty soon he will be way to big for Harrison, but for now, Harrison loves to watch him. He doesn't really care if Harrison is there or not and just does what he does best...sleep.
I recently discovered our high chair can be lowered and Harrison loves to climb in. I am glad it is on his level because he will climb in when it is up high too...
Until he starts using the chair as a step stool. Now he will push it all over the kitchen, up to the sink and over to the fridge and try to get into things. Guess it wasn't such a great discovery after all!
Outside enjoying an already warm evening. Notice there is no water in the pool. He hasn't figured out that it needs water to be fun so until then, we will enjoy playing in the dry pool. He loves the slide, for himself and for his toys. Anything that rolls or slides takes a turn on Harrison's slide.
Our budding artist needs an outlet. He will color on my walls so he doesn't use any sort of writing things in the house. We have sidewalk chalk and he likes it but it is hard to see on the concrete so he started drawing on the outside of the house. We ex-ed that quickly and now he decorates the fence. That is the best yet! Here he is hard at work on his next creation. Then I just take pictures to capture it and the rain washes it away and we start over again!
He is a little blurry because we can't get him to hold still when he is being an artist!

Then just today was an exciting day already! We got our pool passes for the pool in our neighborhood and can start going to the pool even now. We were so excited we celebrated with over an hour of the park and then the sand box. We came home for lunch and Harrison was tired! He looked like this when he was done eating...
and then quickly changed to this. So not like him! I hear of kids falling asleep in their high chair but this is a first for us. It was funny though! I wiped him off and as I was putting him in bed, he started asking to go outside. Maybe after a nap buddy! I love my angel baby!
