Since we had so much fun at the rodeo last week, I decided to take Harrison for a day as well. It was a totally different experience and started much earlier in the morning. We parked and took a tram to the gates. I think he loved the tram ride about as much as anything else today!
The petting zoo is always a highlight!
Harrison has an obsession with a baby anything! The baby goats were a favorite, but he quickly gave up trying to hold them. They are "heavy!"
We headed inside to see the live stock animals. Harrison wasn't too interested, because he wasn't allowed to touch the cows and sheep. We stopped by the pig birthing center to see the piglets that were less then a week old. Harrison really tried to get closer...Darn that big head! He spent quite a while trying to squeeze it between the bars.
But who wouldn't when these cute little guys are waiting on the other side! Even I wanted to hold these babies! Forget a dog, I think I want a pet pig!
There was a butterfly hatching place. Thousands of chrysalis' and butterflies. He loved that he could be so close without them flying into him.
Then we spent a day on the farm and got to experience some farm chores.
Harrison learned to milk a cow.
Ride a tracker.
And pick some vegetables. (I guess Dillan gets to feed the chickens)
Overall I think Harrison would agree with the sign!
One more tractor ride...
before "selling" our goods at the farmer's market. Harrison used his "money" to buy chips.
Then we had to head back to the petting zoo to say good bye to all our new animal friends. The baby goat needed to eat his lunch I guess.
Trying to reach the wambat one last time!
The llama even got down so Harrison could pet him.
We had a great time and were really happy with the time that we were able to spend at the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo this year.
It was an exhausting, but fun day! I guess this cowboy just couldn't handle all the excitement without a little nap!
