As summer ends...

Well, it has been a long, hot summer for us in Texas. It still feels weird to call it home but hopefully after closing on our new house at the end of the month, we will really be able to settle in here. Despite living in a small, one bedroom apartment for too long, it has been fun to all be together and to watch little Harrison change from our little baby to a toddler. Here are some highlights...

Saying goodbye to our house in Utah...it still feels weird some days to not be there anymore!
Our little sleepy head...he loves sleeping on his stomach all tucked in with his butt up in the air!

The bathtub never gets old. I am pretty sure he would stay in all day if we let him.
He is getting so much personality and we just love all the interaction!
He loves to listen to us read and now will actually let us read a whole book. I love this one because he will just make himself comfortable. I am surprised Jeff can even read the book with Harrison's feet in his face.
He had his first experience on a trampoline about a week ago and loved it. He can't really jump but he loves trying to walk and then having people bounce him around. It is hard to see in this picture, but his hair is full of static and sticking out everywhere!

He has always been an eater! We are working on spoons and bowls but it doesn't always go well.

Along with the bathtub, he loves the pool. I was glad Grandpa wanted to take him in so I didn't have to get all ready. Grandpa loved having a swim buddy while we were visiting Chicago.
He loves to eat his baby food on Daddy's lap. Anyone looking for a way to do baby food without getting it all over...I have the greatest bottle. He loves it and we love the lack of mess.
In July we made a trip to Colorado for the Ward family reunion. We loved seeing the family and mountains again. Harrison got to meet so cousins for the first time. It was a great trip!

Aunt Diana got this snuggy and wore it around for days. Harrison was interested in it so she carried him around in it for a while. It was funny but he didn't last long before he wanted to be out and moving again.

Here is my little walker. He was taking steps at the beginning of July and by the time he was 9 months old he was walking. Here he is about 10 months old and now he is pretty much running everywhere he goes. My little baby is all grown up!
This one is hard to see but he is standing in his carseat. He doesn't like to be in his carseat very much but he loves to play around with it at the house.
Always eating and he loves to eat anything he can feed himself.
Jeff and I are both big baseball fans so we had the opportunity to go an Astros game and I didn't really want to go. It was 100 degrees outside and I am used to sweating games out at Wrigley and didn't want to do that with Harrison. Then Jeff told me that the park is an AC dome so we decided to try it. Besides watching two teams (Astros/Nationals) that we didn't really care about, the seats and atmosphere were great and Harrison had a great time as well. We all loved it!
We have had a good summer. We have loved being back together as a family and loved all the new experiences we have had. We are excited to be moving into our new house soon and can't wait to be proud homeowners!

Back to School?!

So, everyone keeps asking me how it is not having to work anymore and finally be a stay at home mom. My only response is that I am not really sure what it is like yet. As a teacher, we get our whole summer off so I am used to being home all summer anyway. Only last week did the reality set in...I went to Walmart to pick up some stuff and they were taking down all the summer/4th of July stuff. In its place they were putting up back to school stuff. The first thing I did was run over and try to find pencil boxes and see if I could buy 30 of the same color. Then I noticed that they uped the price this year too. 62 cents per box. Then I remembered that I don't have to shop for school supplies this year. It was a very strange feeling. I love staying home with Harrison and now I can finally say I am feeling like a stay at home mom. Now all I need is a house to take care of! Good luck to all you teachers out there with the back to school sales...it is weird to walk by and not be filling my cart with school supplies and looking for all the teacher appreciation sales!

Big News!!

Well, after months and months (we put in our first offer in March) we finally got word on July 14th that the bank has accepted our second offer and we should be moving into our new house here in Houston on August 1st. Our realtor knows there is a lot to do in order to close on August 3rd (that is the date the bank set). So hopefully it all works out and everything can run smoothly! We are so excited...this house is more then we though we would be able to have at this point in our lives, but it has worked out for us!

In other good news, Harrison has turned 9 months old. I can't believe how much he has grown and changed. He is crawling all over and fast, pulling himself up on everything and starting to take a step here and there. He will be walking before I want him too! Anyway, the same day as we got news about the house, I had him in to Target to get his 9 month pictures done. These were a few of my favorites!

I didn't really want to be in the pictures but she got a few cute ones of us together!
Our little athlete. Jeff loves "playing catch" with him already. He doesn't really throw but he can kindof roll and kick the ball away.

He loves getting up on his knees. Usually he is begging for something when he does it...and that smile usually gets him his way every time!

Love that face!

He is always studying things. I love to watch it. And it brings out those cheeks that we love!

And that smile...I can't get enough of!

Last Goodbyes UT and Welcome to TX

Well, we are still in an apartment in TX but we all made it here safe and are enjoying being together again. Here are some of the highlights just before and after the move.

He is getting used to being a traveling boy. Here Aunt Devin gave him her sunglasses to help with the sun.
We made a trip (HD's first) to the Great Salt Lake...long story but for those who were there...it was not fun!

Sleepy head! Grandma Ward had to take him out in his stroller to get him to sleep. We were grateful for the help!
After getting to TX we spent a few days in a hotel...Harrison managed to keep things interesting and kept us busy chasing after him. But I love that smile!

Always getting into something!
Leaving for the airport, our wonderful friend Connie took a great picture of us in front of our UT home. We will miss it!

His first time at a resturant where we actually let him eat something. He loves cucumbers!

He is getting to big and squirmy for the swaddle so at 8 months old, he is finally going to bed without it.

He looks trapped. Usually he is smiling but he loves to play in the mesh on his pack and play!

As we finish packing he is wondering where all the stuff went?

First swimming adventure. He loved it...he is such a water baby!
