A Little Love from Harrison

Hugs from Harrison and only recently started. He has been a kisser for a few months now, but only recently has he started hugging. It all started with this little elephant. It was a gift from his Grandparents Ward and he loves it. He will squeeze it and say "mmmm". It is so cute. He isn't very good at hugging us yet, but we are working on that. Now, he has started hugging other stuffed animals too.

Then just on Friday, we got a card and picture of our newest cousin, Stratt Greenley. I showed Harrison the picture and he was so excited. He kept pointing to it and saying "aww". So then I said that it was his new baby cousin Stratt...
and he decided that he needed to kiss his new cousin.
He kept giving kisses and hugging the picture.
Then he just wanted to point and I kept saying "there's Stratt" and he would smile and start the whole process over again. The poor picture was getting mangled so I had to take it away, but it is on our fridge for us to look at. Hopefully we will get to meet our newest family member very soon!

A Hiking Adventure

We recently have tried to find some new things in our area. I heard from a lady in my ward about this great park full of hiking trails and even botanical gardens. It was all free so we had some nice weather last Saturday (1/23) and thought we would check out the hiking trails. This was my favorite picture of the day. Harrison reached out for his daddy's hand to walk the trails. It didn't last long but it made my heart melt!

We found a cool bridge but Harrison just wanted to run across it over and over again. It was fun though.
Maybe if he tries hard enough, he can get the boulder out of the ground...
Pointing up at the trees or the airplanes. This is close to the airport and he could hear the planes but couldn't see them through the trees. I might do some photoshop on this picture to enhance it. I think it is a cool picture.
Picking up dirt along the way.
Walking with dad again. There are about 12 miles of trails and with all our stopping and going, we probably went a quarter of a mile.
But how can you stop him from exploring. He loved being out and seeing all the different stuff.
Straying from the trail.
It was a really fun day and we played at the park after that. It is nice to be able to get out and try some new things in the area. Now I want to see the botanical gardens and make my way out to the beaches!

Our "Winter" Days

The best thing about moving to TX is the short "winter", if you can even call it that. We did get a little snow before Christmas and we did have almost 3 days below freezing this month. But now we are in at least the 50s everyday. Lately the weather has even been in the mid-70s! I am loving that and Harrison is as well. When we are not outside, this is what he does...
Be begs and just wants to look out the window until we can go outside.
He gets crazy cabin fever and ends up with pants on his head!
I have even tried pulling out the crayons and drawing pictures...
It works for a few minutes but he doesn't forget. He knows exactly what "outside" means, so don't mention it unless you are going there.
So, when we hit the 50's, we put on a coat and headed to the park to play in the sand. He loves the new sand toys he got for Christmas!
I love that face...such a toothy grin!

Then when it was in the mid-70s last week, we made a trip to the park just about everyday. He was so happy and it was fun for me too! I just love the time outside and Harrison lights up. I truly believe that the sun makes people happier and we are blessed to live in a place that has such warm weather in January!

He looks so big. I guess he is officially a toddler now!
He can go down some slides by himself (as long as he remembers to sit first!)

And even tries to climb back up the slides as well.

I just love this boy and love this age. We have such a good time and I love that I can stay home with him and play with him all day!

Our little climber!

Well, my little boy has turned into quite the adventurer! After weeks of trying to reach the door knobs, TV controls, stove, kitchen counters and table, he finally went from these tippy toes...

...to each of these. He doesn't care what he has to use, but he knows that standing on something will make him taller. Here he thought a little bowl would help...

And I couldn't help but think that these are the cutest little legs I have ever seen!
Here, the laundry basket is going to help him see over the couch (please disregard the laundry in the background...laundry gets in the way of using the basket as a stool!)
This one is one we don't try often because I don't want him thinking that he can reach the stove, but I had to catch it once.

This one is a favorite of mine. He wants so badly to play outside ALL the time. So, whenever we are inside, he is looking for ways to get out. The box helps him here and I got the whole process this time.
Be careful!!
Now reach for it...
And he got caught!
Even the stuff I put on the counters isn't safe anymore!
And another attempt at getting outside!

Mom and Dad's room is a favorite place to get in as well.
So, he has figured out the height but luckily he still can't turn the knobs yet. Most of the climbing is just for fun!

Blogging Madness

It hasn't even been that long since I last blogged but I have decided that I am not very good about writing in a journal so blogging has become my way to journal. Anyway, I just posted 5 entries before this so everyone is more than welcome to check them out. I didn't want to do just 1 or 2 long posts because I wanted to organize them for my own benefit. So, enjoy if you would like. The picture above didn't really fit anywhere but I love it. Harrison took forever to fall asleep for his nap while we were in Chicago. Finally when I didn't hear him anymore, I went in to check on him and found this...you will notice the empty tissue box next to him and the piles of tissue he is sleeping with. It was pretty funny and not too hard to clean up, but I did wait until he was awake. Nothing like a nap in the clouds...we moved the tissue box after that too!

All together again

For the first time in 2 years (and the first time ever for Harrison and my nephew Talon) the whole Willerth family was able to get together. It was so fun and although we were all only together for a day, it was still fun and involved more presents, my birthday, game night and of course a family picture.
A proud Grandpa and Grandma holding the 2 smallest grandsons
The crowd singing happy birthday...I can't believe I am 26!
The traditional family picture. I got photoshop for my birthday so I still need to make some enhancements but they are still good pictures on their own.

I love my family and am so glad I will be with them forever! The time that we have to spend with family is priceless and I am so glad for the many times we have to get together.

A few Firsts for the Baby

Well, I put it off long enough. Harrison has this white, blonde hair and little curls that I love. This is what I see when I look at my little baby...But it was getting long in the back and this is more what his dad saw (it is wet now because we are about to cut it!) So, with the help of Grandma and some aunts, Jeff and I gave Harrison his first hair cut on December 27, 2009.

I got to use the scissors to get rid of the really long stuff. He quickly decided that he hated it...
but kisses from Daddy help make him feel better!
Then Dad took the lead with the buzzer to thin out the back
His baby curls are gone and he looks more sad then I do!
And Harrison decides he is "all done" with the hair cut. The top was still pretty short so we will cut that the next time we cut his hair.
The day after Christmas, Chicago got dumped on. They said my parents got about 14 inches of snow at their house. Jeff took some pictures to help us remember it...we don't see snow like that anymore!

Then, we decided to go and do some sledding...uncle Drake is helping with Harrison.
He is having fun now. It was so funny watching him try to walk in those boots!
I think we are almost ready! This was Harrison's first sledding trip. He had a good time but we had a hard time keeping mittens on him so he didn't last very long before his hands were freezing. I brought him back early but it was a lot of fun and we all had a few fun trips down the hill. I didn't bring the camera, but some other people did so I will have to work on getting some action shots from them!
