Easter and March Madness

March was truly a crazy month for us. We had a lot going on and a lot of visitors. We enjoyed every moment of it and had some great firsts. In the midst of all the big things, we still enjoyed a few small milestones this month as well.

Harrison loves cereal. I usually give it to him dry (it is so much easier to clean up). Then while I am eating my cereal, I give Harrison bites. He loves the cereal with milk (who can blame him!) Well, we have been working on the spoon so now is the time and he did really well. And he eats a lot more cereal for breakfast now.

The little sleepy head always finds himself in the most random positions. Some nights we come out laughing because of how he looks. This night, he had both his feet through the bars of his crib.

Harrison loves watching the cars go by. They started building a house down our street and now we have a lot of trucks coming and going. Harrison hears them and heads straight for the door. He now knows the sign for car and does that while the trucks come and go.
My garden is progressing nicely. These pictures are from March (it was just starting) and my little green thumb helper wanted to help me weed the garden. He isn't very helpful but he tries really hard.

Harrison loves his basket and figured out quickly that there were treats inside the eggs.
He wanted to eat all of them as fast as he could. We had to take the basket away to keep him from getting too much of a sugar rush. Luckily, some eggs were filled with healthy snacks too!

While watching General Conference (which was a great way to keep Easter in perspective!), we should have realized that Harrison was being a little too quiet. We turned around to find Easter grass all over the floor.
He had a good time though! Happy Easter to everyone! May we always remember the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior! He is risen!

Where does the time go?

Today my little angel baby turns 18 months old! I can't believe it! It still seems like yesterday that I just had him and we brought him home from the hospital and had no idea what we were doing as parents! Some days I still don't know what I am doing, but I try and Harrison teachs me so much. He is such a smart baby and so easy going! He makes my job easy.

Some 18 month mile stones include:
*Starting nursery (He has done great and I have already left him the whole time with no complaints!)
*Talking - He can say: mom, dad, ball, outside, up, hot, help, more, dog(da)
*Signing - He can sign: ball, help, more, airplane, car, bird, eat, all done, please, bath and milk
*He Performs - He loves to run, dance, jump, spin
*He hugs and kisses! - I call it giving "love"
*He eats all sorts of different foods (and so far, no allergies!)
*He points to and knows his head, eyes, ears, mouth, toes, belly and nose
*He understands and follows 2 and 3 step processes- We can say to him to go and get something and put it somewhere and then come and get something else and usually he can remember everything!
*He loves to be around other people and other children
*He was good at and we are working more on sharing our toys better!
*He sleeps 12-13 hours a night and takes a 2 hour afternoon nap.
*He loves bath time and stays in well past when the water gets cold.
*He waits by the door for daddy when he hears the garage door open at the end of daddy's work day.
*He loves to play with balls. He is really good at throwing and kicking and starting to get much better at catching. He can even hit a golf ball pretty well.
*He walked early (9 months) so now he is running everywhere.
*He loves to be outside and loves to play at the park, in sand, in water, run around or just go on walks and look at the beauty around us.

There is so much more I know I am leaving out so I might come back and edit again. I don't share this to brag, but I want to remember. I can't believe how big he has gotten and I just want to remember everything. He is such a great baby and I feel so blessed to be his mother. Heavenly Father truely loves and trusts me to bless me with such a loving, kind and patient little soul!

Willerth Spring Break Pt 2

A few more pictures from Discovery Green. We walked around the gardens and got a picture with my dad, Drake, me, Della and Harrison.

On Thursday Jeff took the day off work and decided to come with us on a beach day excursion. We started by driving out to Galveston and took a ferry ride to a peninsula off Galveston Island.
Our family on the ferry. Harrison loved the ferry ride but did not want me holding him for a picture. He wanted to be looking in the water and at the birds and pay attention to what was going on around us. Jeff and I took a ferry trip on our Honeymoon so here we are almost 5 years later (plus one!) on the ferry again.

Can you tell we are related? My three youngest siblings who came for the visit (Della, Diana and Drake) along with me and Harrison.
After getting off the ferry we found a really quiet beach. We decided to eat lunch here and Harrison was happy to be out and running freely. He would run right up to the water, touch it quickly and then run away. It took him a little while to warm up to the water.
He liked throwing the sand the best...
and then his shoe when it fell off.
The waves were each so different that he was very cautious. One would knock him over so the next one he would back up for. He loves the water but did not like being knocked over.
While at the beach we found a large jelly fish (dead of course) washed up on the shore. My dad cleaned it off and no one else wanted to touch it.
We found some flowers and my sister looked beautiful with one in her hair.
After lunch, we took the ferry back and found a much less rocky beach. It was a lot warmer here too because it was more protected. Here is teeny, tiny Dad with the video camera in hand.
Again he loved playing in the water but was a little tired and got knocked over so he just wanted to sit and cuddle with mom...I wasn't going to complain!

Overall, a relaxing day at the beach for our family.
Friday everyone was tired from the beach and running around all week so we just stayed home and played. Drake didn't leave the couch once before noon!
Then we took a trip to the park when Jeff got home from work. Harrison loves to swing and my mom got this great picture. Pure joy!

At the park, we thought about playing soccer and then the goal post fell right over, so we played kickball instead.

Willerth Spring Break Pt. 1

Peek-a-Boo...we see you! My parents drove down to Houston for spring break with my three youngest siblings. Harrison was so excited to see everyone and have so many people to entertain. He got busy right away and showed us his peek-a-boo skills. He is always a crowd pleaser!
And of course, my family get togethers always involve food. Diana is a great pancake maker! Monday was a day of shopping and hanging out at the house.
Harrison loves to eat and that morning on top of his 3 pancakes, he enjoyed grapefruit.

These are a little out of order, but on Wednesday morning I was able to go to the Temple in Houston with my mom and dad. We had a great time and got some great pictures. Aren't my parents the cutest?!

On Tuesday we drove out to the Space Center Houston (Close to Galveston) and spent the day at the Space Center.
They had a Tram ride that took you from the museum/visitors center to the actual Space Station. It was really neat and I have never seen anything like it before.
Harrison enjoyed the Tram ride. He likes being in a car with no car seat I guess!

Part of what would have been Apollo 18, had they done that many missions. You can see Harrison and I at the base of the stairs. We look so little and this piece isn't even a quarter of the total size of the thing!

After watching a movie about space exploration and starting to walk through the exhibit, Harrison needed a nap. Diana was cold and this sleeping baby is a fireball. It was a perfect match. He really looks like a baby when he is asleep!
Awake again and ready to play. They had a space themed play area and Della was nice enough to take him in and let him run around. He loved every minute and she said she got her workout for the day so it was a good trade!
On Wednesday afternoon we went to Downtown Houston. We checked out Discovery Green. This is one of those places that I have wanted to go to since we moved here but just have not had the time or the right weather. That day was a perfect day and we got to walk around and see the city too. Harrison loved the fountains the best and would have stayed there all day if we let him.
Drake was trying to get him closer. The fountains kept changing heights so he was tentative in getting to close to any of them.
